Kendrick Lamar has just broken a new record.
Chart Data confirmed on Sunday (Sept. 15) that Kendrick's 2012 major label album debut good kid, m.A.A.d city has officially become the longest charting hip-hop studio album in Billboard 200 history. The feat breaks the record previously held by Eminem's 2002 album, The Eminem Show.
Though Eminem's 2005 project Curtain Call: The Hits is actually the longest-running album on the Billboard Hip-Hop charts, it is only a compilation album and not a studio effort. That project currently sits at 461 weeks on the charts, while The Eminem Show is at 357 weeks and now good kid, m.A.A.d city sits at 358 weeks.
