Tyga Signs a Multi Million Dollar Deal With Columbia Records

Tyga has found a new home for his music.
According to a press release, the Grammy Award-nominated rapper has secured a multi-million dollar deal with Columbia Records and officially joined the label’s extensive roster. He’s expected to release fresh material in the very near future.
In a recent interview with Variety, Tyga explained his intentions with the longstanding imprint.
“They definitely understand the global brand,” he explained. “I have a lot of fans worldwide — in places I’ve never been like South America, and in places I have been like Asia and Europe. They can help bring that to a larger scale. Doing it independently, you don’t really have those teams to help worldwide.
“Sony, if you look at the history from what they’ve done from Pharrell to BeyoncĂ© to Adele — then you look at Lil Nas X, one of their new artists that’s blown up this year — they’ve done a lot for artists globally, for their brand.”
Tyga’s career reached epic heights after releasing his major label debut, Careless World: Rise of the Last King, in 2011. The 21-track album contained the quadruple-platinum single “Rack City” and triple-platinum “Faded” featuring Lil Wayne, among others.
Last year, he unleashed his most successful single to date, “Taste” featuring Migos rapper Offset. It not only went six-times platinum, peaking at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100, but it also generated over 1 billion cumulative streams.
The 29-year-old’s most recent album, Legendary, dropped in June.

Travis Scott's "Highest In The Room" Debuts at #1 on The Hot 100 Chart

Travis Scott has debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time in his career. The multi-platinum selling artist’s latest single “Highest In The Room” has entered the chart at No. 1, which is the highest position any of his songs have reached in their first week.
Scott previously hit No. 1 with his Drake-assisted single “Sicko Mode,” but the track debuted at No. 4 in August 2018. After spending 17 weeks on the chart, the Astroworld cut finally made its way to the top spot last December.
The path to No. 1 was much quicker for “Highest In The Room” following its release on October 4. According to Nielsen Music, the song racked up 59 million U.S. streams in its opening week.

Those numbers also helped Scott reach No. 1 on the Streaming Songs, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts. He settled for No. 2 on Digital Song Sales with 51,000 copies sold for the week ending October 10.

Kodak Black Ordered To Pay Back Over $90K For Missed Shows

Kodak Black is being asked to repay a debt over concerts he missed in 2017.
In documents obtained by The Blast, an Arizona judge ordered the 22-year-old to dish out $91,095.05 to Arizona concert promoter Nicholas Fitts, who originally sued for $500,000 in damages.
Fitts, who filed the lawsuit in May just days after Kodak was arrested before his Rolling Loud Miami set, sued Back over contractual agreements for a New York show initially scheduled for March 3, 2017.
In addition to the “makeup date,” Kodak also missed a third concert.

According to USA Today, Kodak pleaded guilty to his federal weapon charges in August and faces up to 20 years in prison. He’s expected to be sentenced on November 13.

Is Hot 97 Planning On Banning Tekashi 6ix9ine Upcoming Music

Tekashi 6ix9ine may be plotting a comeback, but it might not be as simple as he thinks. According to TMZ, the currently incarcerated rapper has lost the support of one of New York City’s biggest Hip Hop radio stations — Hot 97.
A Hot 97 executive reportedly said when 6ix9ine is released from prison, the station likely won’t play any of his new songs and doesn’t “anticipate” supporting his music at all.

The exec reportedly wasn’t a fan to begin with and 6ix9ine’s role as government star witness in the case against alleged Nine Trey gang members Anthony “Harv” Ellison and Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack has made his reputation with the station worse.
6ix9ine has been behind bars since last November. During his testimony last month, he admitted he’d agreed to cooperate with the feds only one day after his arrest in hopes of a lighter sentence. Although he was originally facing at least 47 years in prison, his cooperation could get him out as soon as early 2020.

Desiigner Wants Off His Label

It has been three years since Desiigner peaked at #1 on the Hot 100 chart with the ubiquitous hit "Panda." That same year G.O.O.D. Music president Pusha T welcomed the Brooklyn rapper to Kanye West's music imprint.
Fast forward to 2019, and it appears Desiigner is publicly asking to be let out of his deal with G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam Recordings. The 22-year-old Bedford–Stuyvesant representative tweeted, "FREE ME FROM THIS LABLE."

"Nobody is doing this sh*t for me. Nobody is doing this sh*t for me," said Desiigner. "I signed to Kanye West, the biggest n*gga in the world. Y'all n*ggas think he's the genius... Desiigner has not charted on the Hot 100 since 2017. That year his feature on the BTS song "MIC Drop" peaked at #28. Desiigner's only other Top 40 entry is the Platinum-certified "Tiimmy Turner" which stalled at #34 in 2016. "Panda" has been certified 5-time Platinum by the RIAA.
"What y'all talking about I fell off. I only dropped two mixtapes, bro. Two, bro. Y'all people mad ungrateful for the music I gave y'all. Y'all n*ggas need to start putting me on top. I did Diamond for y'all n*ggas two times, bro. Y'all n*ggas need to chill," declared Desiigner in that IG video from February.

@TheRReport1 October Producer of the Month: @iam_30Roc

Samuel “30 Roc” Gloade is a producer and industry tastemaker originally born in Bronx, New York. Besides working behind the boards of mainstream artists, he enjoys honing new talent and preparing them for commercial success.

Coming from a family of musicians, his father and cousin inspired his passion for snares, bass, and 808’s. Picking up a drum and joining his high school’s marching band led to 30 Roc’s early turnover in music production. He hopped onto scene connecting with rising talent on social media who were, like himself, looking to break into the music industry.

30 Roc took the extra mile to play an active role in the Atlanta independent music culture by serving as a guest judge for open-mic showcases including Hot 107.9 Durtty Boyz’ Battle Ground Monday. He audited new industry talent and gave away free beats and studio time to competition winners.

While most of his production has a heavy bass and percussion, 30 Roc is looking to break a pop artist in the near future. He has experience with other sounds such as R&B and Reggae.

Success: In February 2015, 30 Roc officially signed under Mike Will Made It’s Ear Drummer Records music label. His most successful single to date with the label is “Work Ya Muscle” by Earz which was featured on the VMAs in an Apple Music commercial with The Weeknd and in the motion picture Creed.

Before signing with EDR, his success as a solo producer rose after Bandit Gang Marco’s club anthem “Nasty” in 2014. The single took off from the underground scale to radio numbers. Both T-Wayne and Trey Songz have done remixes to the single. T-Wayne’s “Nasty “ freestyle went platinum and peaked at #9 on Billboard Top 100’s for 4 consecutive weeks in May, 2015.

At the turn of 2016, 30 has landed a placement on the Migos “YRN 2” mixtape for their single “Muhfuckin Tired,” Skippa Da Flippa’s “The Truth,” Lucci’s “Up on It,”. 30 landed placement on Jeezy’s Trap or Die 3 album with the single “Recipe” produced along with Mike Will.
