With another 149,000 equivalent album units, Hollywood's Bleeding leads the Billboard 200 once again. This gives Post Malone his third consecutive week at #1.
Hollywood's Bleeding is the only project to rule the Billboard 200 for three straight weeks in 2019. A Boogie wit da Hoodie's Hoodie SZN and Billie Eilish's When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? topped the tally for three nonconsecutive weeks this year.

Drake's "God Plans" Gets Certified Diamond

On Sept. 25, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) confirmed that the Canadian rapper's 2018 song "God's Plan" had been certified 11-times platinum.
This means that the record, which belongs to his 2018 album Scorpion, has sold at least 11 million units thus far, making "God's Plan" Drake's first-ever solo diamond certification. While the RIAA database claims that Drake first reached diamond status with Bad Bunny after their song "MIA" went Latin Diamond in July, the Latin distinction is important in this case. For that subdivision of platinum certifications, platinum is classified as any song or project that has sold 60,000 units.
The 6 God himself proclaimed last year that "God's Plan" is the most important song he'd ever done. In the official video, Drake hit up Miami Senior High School and donated $25,000 and some special OVO-designed uniforms to the school, which made them the first student body to ever possess Drizzy-certified gear. During that time, Drake also donated $50,000 to Lotus House, which is a women and children's shelter based in Miami.
Four months after its release last year, the song beat Drake's own record after it became his longest-leading Billboard Hot 100 single by reigning at the No. 1 spot for 11 consecutive weeks. Drizzy's song "One Dance" previously held the record at 10 weeks.
"God's Plan," along with other songs like "Nice for What," helped Drake, who recently wrapped up his tour in Europe, ascend to the top as the RIAA's top digital singles artist in July 2018. The groundbreaking track also earned a Grammy for Best Rap Song at the 2019 Grammy Awards.
Congratulations to Drake on his latest certification!

Tekashi 6ix9ine Reportedly Rejected Witness Protection

Tekashi 6ix9ine will reportedly reject the witness protection program.
According to TMZ, sources close to the embattled rapper say he wants to simply pick up where he left off and continue with his once flourishing rap career.

Several comments on his last Instagram post point to what awaits him on the outside. The video clip, posted on November 18, 2018, is littered with rat emojis and the word “snitch,” a clear indication of his soiled reputation in the rap world.

As part of his testimony, the Brooklyn native identified Jim Jones and Cardi B as Bloods while detailing the inner workings of Nine Trey. Due to his cooperation, it’s possible the 23-year-old will be released from prison as early as the top of next year.
His safety plan is reportedly to have 24-7 security, although it’s going to be expensive. He will likely have to get protection for his family as well.

Soulja Boy Reportedly Gained Weight Since Being Released From Jail

Soulja Boy has reportedly adopted a much healthier lifestyle since getting out of jail.
According to TMZ, the “Crank That” mastermind has quit drugs (more specifically, lean) and alcohol, resulting in a 50-lbs. weight gain. Soulja’s manager Miami Mike said he started packing on the pounds following his three-month stint in L.A. County Jail earlier this year.

Soulja reportedly spent anywhere from $500 to $800 a day on lean, squashing his appetite in the process. As a result, Soulja was roughly 130 lbs. at the beginning of his sentence.
Paparazzi recently caught up with him and it was immediately clear Soulja had bulked up. In the video clip, a man asks, “How thick are you?”

Soulja was released from jail in July, after getting out 146 days early due to a combination of good behavior, time served and overcrowding. He was originally sentenced to 240 days and 265 days of community service for probation violations.

Future & Rocko Officially Squash Their Beef

Nearly two years removed from the day Future settled the lawsuit between himself and Rocko, the two have publicly called it quits on their beef.
Just as Drake and Meek Mill did before them, Hendrix and Rocko symbolically ended their conflict with an onstage reunion. For the performance, which was part of the Sunday night (Sept. 22) Atlanta stop of Meek and Future's Legendary Nights Tour, they performed "Chosen One," a Rocko-featured 2013 track from Future's Freebandz label compilation, F.B.G: The Movie.
This performance effectively marks the public end of a long-running beef that stems from a lawsuit. If you can recall, Future was signed to Rocko's A1 Recordings label back in 2010, but the relationship between the two Atlanta artists soured after Rocko filed a $10 million lawsuit against Future in 2016.
The lawsuit claims that Future was meant to release his first six studio albums under Rocko's record label. However, Future signed a side deal with Epic Records in 2011, and that made things murky on Rocko's end. Years later, in the lawsuit, Rocko claimed he was entitled to 25 percent of the multi-million-dollar advances Future received for signing the Epic deal. Rocko also said he was entitled to an additional 20 percent of revenue Future got from touring and endorsements.
Soon after the suit was filed, things got really heated between the two, with Future dissing Rocko on Twitter and then in an Instagram comment two years ago. The case reportedly settled out of court in December 2017, but there were never any official reports on the dollar amount awarded to Rocko. Things had been quiet on their beef since, and now, it looks as though any issues they had have been resolved for good.
Check out their reunion for yourself just below.
In other parts of his set, Hendrix made it a point to acknowledge a rising Atlanta star. For the moment, he brought out Lil GotIt, an artist whose next to come up out of Atlanta. Together, the two performed GotIt's bubbling single, "Da Real HoodBabies."
In other recent Future news, an Illinois high school student was reportedly suspended for singing lyrics about a gun from Future's single "Draco." The rapper has yet to comment publically about the student's suspension.

Tekashi 6ix9ine To Witness Protection

Tekashi 6ix9ine took the stand last week as the government’s star witness in the case of alleged Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack and Anthony “Harv” Ellison.
As part of his testimony, 6ix9ine detailed the inner workings of Nine Trey and several incidences that occurred during his time with the gang. At one point, the 23-year-old identified several people as Bloods — including Cardi B and Jim Jones — damaging his reputation in the rap world even further.

According to the New York Times, 6ix9ine has the option to go into the witness protection program. Former F.B.I. official Jay Kramer said he’ll need to do ditch the rainbow-colored hair for good and attempt to blend in.
“Despite how connected we are, and the appetite for social media content in this country, there are places where, if this kid gets a haircut and wears normal clothes, no one would know or care who he is,” Kramer told the publication.
The Times added it’s “unlikely” the United States Marshals Service would pay for the removal of 6ix9ine’s massive face tattoos, so it could be tricky.

6ix9ine pleaded guilty to racketeering conspiracy and eight other felony charges in January. During his time on the witness stand, he admitted he agreed to cooperate with the feds one day after his November 2018 arrest.
While the Brooklyn native faces a minimum of 47 years in prison, prosecutors agreed to push for a lighter sentence earlier this year. In fact, it’s entirely possible he could serve no additional prison time at all.
6ix9ine’s willingness to talk has earned him the nickname “Snitch9ine” on social media and Hip Hop veterans such as Snoop Dogg and the aforementioned Diplomats MC have labeled him a rat.
Even 50 Cent, who once referred to 6ix9ine as his “son,” has turned his back on him.
The trial is expected to continue this week.

LL Cool J Resigns With Def Jam Records

LL Cool J signed his first record contract with Def Jam Recordings in the 1980s as the imprint’s first artist.
His debut album, 1985’s Radio, featured iconic singles such as “Rock The Bells” and “I Can’t Live Without My Radio.” With the exception of the Jazzy Jay-assisted “I Need A Beat (Remix),” all songs were produced by Def Jam co-founder Rick Rubin.

According to AllHipHop, Ladies Love Cool James has returned home to Def Jam. Sources at the label reportedly couldn’t divulge when he’d be putting out new music but said it “could be” soon.
After 13 albums with Def Jam — including 1990’s Mama Said Knock You Out — LL left the label in 2008. Over the course of his career, he’s been nominated five times for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but has yet to be inducted.
He currently hosts his own SiriumXM show called Rock The Bells and is still playing NCIS Special Agent Sam Hanna in the CBS crime drama television series NCIS: Los Angeles.
In 2017, he became the first MC to receive Kennedy Center Honors.

DMX Is Back With Def Jam, Signing New Deal

DMX is back where he solidified his legendary career in the first place.
A source at Def Jam has confirmed with XXL that the former Ruff Ryders rapper has signed a new record deal with the historic rap label.
During the late 1990s through the early 2000s, DMX was one of Def Jam’s top-selling artists. He released five albums overall for the label, including his two classic LPs, It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot and Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood, which were both released months apart from each other in 1998.
Since his release from a West Virginia prison in January after serving a one-year prison sentence for tax evasion, the rap veteran has been staying busy performing at old-school rap shows and recording music with longtime collaborator and friend Swizz Beatz. You can currently hear X on the Swizzy-produced track "Just in Case," which features Rick Ross. The song is the opening theme for Epix’s upcoming new series Godfather of Harlem.
Swizz recently confirmed the news of DMX's re-signing during his interview with Power 105.1.'s The Breakfast Club. The veteran producer feels that X's new deal will bring him back to prominence.
"It's going to be a good year for him, god willing," Swizzy said. "I just want it to happen so he can go to where he been supposed to have went."
Swizz acknowledges that X has been out of the spotlight because "he wasn't in his right form," but says that his fans are still very supportive of DMX.
"He missed a lot of time, but you know what, those people still show up to them shows," he added. "He does something different with them."
Check out Swizz Beatz announcing that DMX signed with Def Jam again below.

Cardi B Speaks On Her Gang Affiliation

Tekashi 6ix9ine identified both Jim Jones and Cardi B as Nine Trey Bloods during the trial of Anthony “Harv” Ellison and Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack on Thursday (September 19).
While Cardi has spoken about her affiliation before, a rep told TMZ it wasn’t true. The platinum-selling rapper, however, swiftly corrected the rep and confirmed she’s a member of the Brims set — not Nine Trey.
“You said it yourself,” she wrote in a since-deleted tweet. “Brim not 9 Trey. I never been 9 trey or associated with them.”
In 2018, Cardi confirmed she was a Blood during an interview with GQ.
“When I was 16 years old, I used to hang out with a lot of Bloods,” she said. “I used to pop off with my homies. And they’d say, ‘Yo, you really get it poppin’. You should come home. You should turn Blood.’ And I did. Yes, I did.
6ix9ine has been the government’s star witness in the case against Ellison and Mack over the past three days.
Jones echoed Snoop Dogg’s recent sentiments in a June interview with Real 92.3, calling 6ix9ine a “rat.” He added there’s no coming back from snitching.
The trial is expected to go on for roughly two weeks.
